In October 2026, none of the Palermo studios we checked published a price for a CV or business portrait: you have to ask for a quote. Palermo is Sicily’s regional capital, a growing cruise and ferry port and a city where jobs are harder to find than in most of Italy. That makes a careful application, photo included, worth the effort. Here is what employers in Palermo expect, what we found about studio prices, and how to get a natural headshot without booking a session.

## Do you need a photo on your CV in Palermo?

Legally, no. Italian law does not require a photo, and the Legislative Decree 276/2003 forbids employment agencies from screening candidates on personal characteristics such as age, sex or ethnic origin. In practice, a photo is still the norm. Gi Group, one of Italy’s large recruitment agencies, writes that a photo is “not imposed by any law, but it is usually expected”. Public employers matter more here than in many cities. For a public competition (concorso), follow the call for applications (bando): Italy’s public administration recruits through the inPA portal, where you fill in a structured profile. For private employers, in Palermo or elsewhere in Italy, send a CV with a photo, and use the same photo on LinkedIn.

## What CV photo style works in Palermo

Palermo’s job market is tight. According to ISTAT, the province had an unemployment rate of 12.8% in 2025, down from 14.3% in 2024 but about twice the national 6.1%, and an employment rate of 43.7% among 15 to 64-year-olds, against 62.5% for Italy. Each opening draws many candidates, so small details such as a sharp, friendly photo count.

Services dominate the local economy. As Sicily’s capital, Palermo hosts the offices of the Regione Siciliana, local government and the regional branches of public bodies, which together employ a large share of the workforce. Tourism is the other pillar: the port authority counted 2.65 million passengers in Palermo in 2025, including 996,484 cruise passengers. The port is also home to Fincantieri’s shipyard.

Whatever the sector, Randstad’s advice applies: face the camera, show your head and shoulders, use a neutral background and avoid filters. ## How much does a CV photo cost in Palermo?

We looked for published prices in October 2026 and found none for a CV or business portrait among the studios we checked:

As a rough guide only, Cronoshare, a marketplace for quotes, estimated in January 2026 that photographers in Palermo charge €50 to €70 an hour, for all types of shoots. When you ask for a quote, check:

-   **What is included:** session length, number of edited images, and whether retouching is basic or full.
-   **Files:** high-resolution and web formats, and whether you can use them on LinkedIn.
