No Italian law requires a photo on your CV, but many Naples candidates include one. Few Naples studios publish prices for CV or LinkedIn portraits: most work on quote. Naples combines one of Europe’s oldest public universities, a tech campus in its eastern districts, car and aerospace plants in its hinterland, and many candidates for each job. A candidate for a public competition and a graduate applying to a software company will not need the same photo. Here is what to expect from Naples photographers, which style fits which employer, and how to get a natural photo without booking a session.

## Do you need a photo on your CV in Naples?

Legally, no. Italian law bans any discrimination in access to employment, including in selection criteria (article 27 of the Equal Opportunities Code, Legislative Decree 198/2006), and employment agencies may not pre-select candidates on grounds such as age, sex or origin (article 10 of Legislative Decree 276/2003). Nothing requires a photo. In practice, many Italian candidates add one, and the EU’s Europass CV editor suggests you “add a professional photo”. Two cases are common in Naples:

-   **Private employers**, from engineering firms to hotels and start-ups: a recent, professional photo at the top of your CV is a safe choice unless the ad says otherwise.
-   **Public-sector competitions** (_concorsi_): applications go through official online forms. inPA, the national recruitment portal of the public administration, asks you to register by completing your CV online. Follow each notice’s instructions rather than sending a designed CV.

## What CV photo style works in Naples

The Naples job market is tougher than in the North. Campania’s unemployment rate was 13.9% in 2025, down from 15.6% in 2024 but still more than twice the Italian average of 6.1%, according to Eurostat. With many candidates for each opening, a clean, professional photo is a simple way to look prepared.

The University of Naples Federico II, founded in 1224, is one of Europe’s oldest public universities still in operation. Since 2016 it has hosted the Apple Developer Academy at its San Giovanni a Teduccio campus in the city’s east, and for 2026/2027 it announced a selection of up to 120 students for its Apple Foundation Program. North-east of the city, Pomigliano d’Arco is home to Stellantis’s Giambattista Vico car plant and to aerospace sites of Leonardo and Avio Aero. Next to the central station, the Centro Direzionale is the city’s main office district.

## How much does a CV photo cost in Naples?

Unlike in Milan or Turin, few Naples photographers publish a price list for CV or LinkedIn portraits. What we found in October 2026:

Marketplaces give a rough idea. On [ProntoPro](https://prontopro.it/costi-prezzi/napoli-fotografo-ritratti_112428_34700), the average range for portrait photographers in Naples was €100 to €500, and a portrait request in Grumo Nevano for five photos or fewer was matched with a €50 offer in August 2026.
